Weekly Update
Term 2 Week 6
What a fantastic week we’ve had celebrating the achievements and community spirit of our Year 3–6 students at the recent Cross Country event! Their outstanding effort, determination, and encouragement of one another truly showcased the positive culture we value so highly at our school. We are incredibly proud to announce that a number of students will be representing our school at the next level of competition in the coming weeks—an amazing achievement and a testament to their hard work and resilience.
In addition to our sporting success, we are thrilled with our recent NAPLAN results, particularly in the areas of reading and numeracy. These strong results reflect the continued focus and dedication of both students and staff. Across the school, we’ve also seen significant improvement in literacy outcomes, especially in the early years, where our shift toward a structured, phonics-based approach in P–2 has had a profoundly positive impact on student learning.
Finally, a quick reminder about a few important items. The morning learning session is a crucial part of the school day, and even minor lateness can have a cumulative effect on student progress—your support in ensuring students arrive on time is greatly appreciated. Please also note that Tuesday 10th June is a student-free day as staff undertake essential First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our students thrive
A couple of reminders;
*If your child arrives after the bell they must be signed in at the office by an adult, and collect a late pass to take to class. In exceptional circumstances, please phone the office if you are dropping your child off late and are unable to accompany them into the school grounds.
*Chocolate money – please pay ASAP. If anyone would still like an additional box, please contact Lee in the office as we still have a small number of boxes left.
Kind regards,
Danielle Henderson
Acting Principal
